About this blog

I created this blog for an independent study course while I was a doctoral candidate in 2009. The course examined a term called “discourse communities” as it is used in an the academic field of Rhetoric and Composition. Over time, I posted reading summaries and analyses of articles and book chapters. I also posted four reading responses through which I tried to tell a story of discourse community theory in Rhetoric and Composition–with a focus on composition. Although I no longer post to this blog, I remain interested in the issues I’ve discussed here. I have left this blog up in the event that others with similar interests may read it.
